The Operational Risk Officer will join the Risk Management Department (RMD) with the primary responsibility to perform appropriate controls, monitor KRIs, create & follow up accident reports and design countermeasures to prevent the occurrence of a wide range of potential operational incidents impacting on the Bank's activities.
The Operational Risk Officer will also work on operational risk related matters such as Business Continuity Management (BCM), Operational Risk Control of Self Assessment exercise (ORSA), the preparation of materials for the monthly Risk Management Committee as well as specific reports for the regulators and Head Office.
In addition, he/she will collaborate with RMD's members in charge of New Business & Products Acceptance Committee (NBPA), Outsourcing Risks and Climate & Environmental Risks (C&E Risks) among other duties.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Provide support to the different Departments in the preparation of accident reports (identification/assessment/reporting/remediation/lesson learnt) from inception to closing. Gather statistical data on operational losses and near miss cases. Participate in the preparation of the Risk Bulletin, sharing examples of incidents, case studies and best market practices in this field.
- Write up, update and maintain Operational Risk related Policies, Manual and Procedures
- Regularly perform a gap analysis to ensure the alignment of the Bank's Operational Risk framework towards the regulations.
- NBPA: Collaborate on the "New Business & Product Acceptance" (NBPA) process, making sure the Risk related topics are covered prior to requesting General Management's approval.
- Outsourcing Risk: review due diligence reports provided by the 1st line of defense and collaborate in the preparation of Outsourcing Risk Assessments.
- Climate &
Environmental Risks:
assist in the preparation of materiality assessments, perform stress tests, review templates, KRIs and keep Policies, Procedures and Manuals updated.
- Provide materials and presentations about Operational Risk for the monthly Risk Management Committee.
- Act as a backup of other team members involved in Operational Risk.
Your profile:
- University degree in Finance, Banking or Risk Management. Master Degree is a plus.
- At least 5 years of working experience in the field of Operational Risk within a financial institution or asset management firm in Luxembourg or in an EU country.
- Solid understanding of operational risk management and general knowledge of the EBA regulatory guidelines.
- Organized, good communication skills and at ease with working in a multicultural environment;
- Experienced with using Microsoft Office (especially Excel);
- Fluent in English.
