**Topic**:
Conduct an independent technical assessment of the SIMPL programme (code.europa.eu/simpl) to evaluate capabilities, integration potential, and fit-for-purpose use within Dataspace4Luxembourg (DS4L). Scope: study repos and docs, perform install/read-only smoke tests where feasible (no new development), verify interoperability aspects (APIs, security, metadata), and produce evidence-based recommendations—including a readiness matrix, lightweight test/runbook per component, and clear guidance on what can be leveraged as-is, adapted, or deferred for DS4L.

**Your role will consist in**:

- Studying SIMPL repos and architecture; identifying a mínimal executable set for lab validation (no new feature development).
- Deploying the stack on Kubernetes using Helm/Terraform and CI/CD (GitLab/GitHub); producing a reproducible setup.
- Validating cross-component interoperability (APIs, authN/authZ, catalogue publication & discovery); opening issues/PRs upstream as needed.
- Implementing basic security & observability (TLS, OAuth2/OIDC, readiness/liveness probes, logs/metrics).
- Preparing concise documentation: install/operate/troubleshoot runbook and a short demo script.
- Delivering a readiness matrix (stability, docs, roadmap, integration risk) and recommendations for DS4L.

During the internship, you will receive the support of a senior engineer as well as the team leader to guide you while defining the approach and milestones. You will also have the opportunity to participate in all the team meetings, which will enable you to be immersed in the professional world and to be faced with day-to-day challenges encountered in the work.

**Prerequisites**:

- Solid Linux and Docker skills; Kubernetes fundamentals.
- Helm/GitOps and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab or GitHub).
- One of Java / TypeScript / Python for integration/glue.
- Basics of networking/TLS and OAuth2/OIDC.
- Ability to read OSS code, troubleshoot distributed systems, and write clear technical docs.

**Good to have**:

- Terraform (IaC) and Prometheus/Grafana.
- RDF/JSON-LD/DCAT basics; exposure to Eclipse Dataspace Components (EDC).
- SSI/Verifiable Credentials concepts.
- Experience opening issues/PRs in open-source projects.
