The Work of an VMC on AWS Cloud Solution Architect?

What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis? You may modify your everyday activities to suit your professional strengths, but you can expect a variety of the following assignments:

- Participate in and drive elements of the route to consumption process to understand customer business, technical objectives, and product requirements.
- Establish credibility & build deep relationships with senior technical leaders within customers and become trusted advocates of VMware’s cloud strategy
- Architect VMC / VCDR solutions, leading & participating in Architecture workshops, running strategy and discovery workshops, and conducting client meetings.
- Partnering with AWS on Pilots and Tech Validation activities to showcase the VMC / VCDR Services and AWS integrations
- Build relationships with AWS Sales and Technical Specialists that are part of our “sell-with” motion for VMC and work as one-team on joint solution architecture engagements.
- Collaboration with VMware Business Units to provide real-time feedback and trends to help influence the VMC roadmap based on customer needs and objectives.
- Build VMC / VCDR enablement content, demo environments, and media for the greater field to leverage as part of positioning our Multi-Cloud Strategy and ensuring others know the Solutions.
- Support the AWS Partner eco-system in terms of enablement and driving solutions into the market.
- Mentor and enable technical sellers on new VMware Cloud Solutions
- Participate in regional marketing events to promote VMware's cloud strategy
- Author blogs, technical articles, or white papers based on experiences of VMware Cloud
- Speak at events such as VMworld, Sales Kick-Offs, Technical Summits

What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?

The hiring manager for this role is Stein Wilhelmsen, Senior Manager VMC on AWS Solution Architecture NEMEA. Stein is a proven leader in cloud and has held leadership roles for several years within VMware encouraging team members to continuously grow professionally and live by the values and creativity they bring to the team.

The team is distributed throughout NEMEA, with all members working flexibility & remotely. We work closely with other teams globally. We are a friendly and collaborative group that learns and grows together, we try to embrace work with a smile while having fun in the process.

Where is this role located?

Flexible: The role is considered flexible and will be a mix of working from a local VMware office and remote depending on your preferences and the arrangements determined with your future manager. You will be expected to live within a reasonable non-daily commute of the office.
