To find out more please visit. **Team Overview** Our tax experts advise on all direct and indirect tax aspects which international and domestic businesses face today. We work with clients across industries including energy and infrastructure, banking and finance, private equity, investment funds and real estate. We provide a wide range of advice for our clients, from informal day-to-day assistance to, the establishment of investment structures (through investment funds and other vehicles), to complex financial and corporate transactions. **Job Overview** As a Senior Associate you will be working with a broad range of clients as well as other teams and practices, not only in Luxembourg, but across the Firm. You will have exposure to a wide range of market leading transactions and tax matters. Your typical responsibilities will include: - Advising on international and domestic tax, covering a wide range of corporate structuring, financing and securitisation transactions, structured debt and real estate investment; - Supervising files and transactions, drafting and reviewing documentation; - Leading calls, negotiating with counterparts and liaising with tax authorities; - Contributing to department know-how and developing precedent documents; - Working with the partner to supervise and develop junior talent; - Contributing actively to the development of our practice both in Luxembourg and across the Firm. In addition to strong technical skills, you should be able to demonstrate an enthusiasm for business development and strong interpersonal skills as there will be significant client contact, in both the work and business development context. You will be expected to have client relationships and a desire to build on these and develop your own client network with support and guidance from the partner and wider team. You would also be expected to manage projects that have been assigned to you, and liaise closely with colleagues, clients, counterparties and other advisers. **Essential Skills and Experience** Experience and qualifications - Fully qualified lawyer, admitted to List 1 of the Luxembourg Bar; - At least 5 years of relevant corporate tax experience, (particularly acting for Real Estate funds) ideally gained within large local law firms or well-established international law firms. **Skills**: - Fluency in English, French, German and Luxembourgish; - Be proactive, a fast learner, and a team-player who can work effectively with colleagues at all levels; - Experience working on cross-border transactions; - The ability to understand and respond effectively to client needs, and the desire to create a memorable client experience; - A motivational, "can-do" attitude; - A commercial approach; - A team-player who can work effectively with colleagues at all levels; - Able to demonstrate the entrepreneurial spirit and energy necessary to help win and execute complicated and high profile transactions. **What makes Ashurst a great place to work?** - A supportive and inclusive work environment; - Flexible working; - An established Career Path Framework is in place clearly defining expectations and outlining opportunities for promotion; - Opportunities often arise for lawyers to spend time on secondment in house with a key client of the firm.
