Python Developer

Lux-Advisory is a company specialized in IT Services and Finance. Our consultants take part in European or International projects. To support the increase of our activity, we are currently looking for a **Python Developer - Financial Applications**.

**Context**

Our client, a European financial institution, has progressively employed Python scripts for various analytical tasks while improving the speed and quality of deliveries. The team is working on building an interactive data analytics platform using Python, Dash, HTML, and MS SQL Server.

The scope of services will be:

- Working collaboratively with another consultant to develop and maintain the platform
- Design and integrate data visualization using Plotly and Dash:

- Lead the design and implementation of interactive data visualizations using Plotly and Dash
- Maintain the inhouse SQL database
- Integrate SQL database data to widgets in dashboard
- Automate Python scripts with task scheduler
- Responsible for writing technical documentation and provide training and ongoing support to the team members
- Oversee the code related to projects within the provided versioning system (Git) while adhering to best practices for version control and collaboration

**Mission**

The Python Developer will provide the following services:

- Code Review and Alignment: analyze the existing code, understand its business logic and objectives, and align the code between the various segments of the developed solutions to ensure maintainability, performance, and readability
- New Code Development: Develop new Python code for various projects and ensure integration with existing developments and systems to maintain consistency and to facilitate future expansions
- Testing: Write unit tests to fulfil the required code coverage quality gates, prepare and participate in system/integration tests and user acceptance tests
- Documentation: Create comprehensive, business-friendly documentation for all developed code to ensure that our team members can understand and maintain the code effectively
- Training and Support: Offer training and support to team members in advanced coding techniques, database development and integration, IT infrastructure management, and version control practices with Git
- Database Development and Integration: Develop the database architecture and associated Python ETL scripts and integrate the database with the IT infrastructure to streamline data storage and management

**Deliverables**

The Python Developer will be responsible for providing the following deliverables:

- Provide requirements and design documents, following the structure and formats approved by our client
- Develop and deliver sophisticated database schemas, integration strategies, and data loading scripts for Microsoft SQL Server. This should include a detailed strategy for integrating these databases with the existing IT infrastructure, enhancing data management and accessibility, supported by comprehensive documentation
- Provide an operator and end-user documentation
- Source code fulfilling the quality gate requirements, configuration, and automated unit tests (pytest)

- Technical skills_
- Mandatory:_
- Master’s degree in engineering, information technology, computer science or related topic
- 4+ years professional experience in IT, Data Analysis and Modelling
- At least one year of experience using Python and Dash with Selenium
- At least one year of experience with MS SQL
- At least one year of experience using SharePoint and Power BI
- At least 1 year of experience working in multinational financial organisations
- Able to produce Technical Documentation
- Experience using version control software such as Git
- Experience using deployment pipelines such as Jenkins
- Experience using code quality platforms such as SonarQube
- Desired:_
- Knowledge of fixed income financial instruments including bonds and interest rate derivative products
- Experience in front office
- Demonstrated ability to automate processes using Python and power automate
- 3+ years of experience proposing and producing technical solutions based on user needs
- Knowledge of Machine Learning Techniques
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Soft skills_
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience working in an agile environment with multiple stakeholders
- Good language skills in English
