Under the direct supervision of the Technical Accountant Manager and the Chief Financial Officer the Technical Accounting Officer assists in all activities related to the reinsurance accounting and technical reporting. The Technical Accounting Officer will work in a commercial reinsurance company located in Luxembourg City. Managed by a team of 15 persons, the Reinsurance company is owned by an international banking group.

YOUR MISSIONS
As a Technical Accounting Officer, you will work closely with the underwriting team to ensure that all technical data sourced from insurance intermediaries is complete, accurate, and processed in a timely manner. You will analyze the financial implications of existing and potential reinsurance contracts, focusing primarily on surety, financial loss, property, and liability risks from Europe and North America. Your role will involve contributing to the production of regular reinsurance performance reports to assist management in decision-making and generating reports required under Lux GAAP and Solvency II.
**Specifically, you will work on**:
**Operational Tasks**:
Collaborate with the underwriting officer, actuaries, and other team members to ensure the timely collection and correct interpretation of technical data related to the accounting of reinsurance treaties.
Work with business partners, including ceding companies and brokers, to ensure the timeliness, completeness, and accuracy of data related to mutual contracts.
Contribute to the development of internal processes to enhance efficiency and control of sourced and processed technical data.
Ensure all technical data is accurately recorded in the accounting system.
Coordinate with external auditors for statutory audits and internal auditors for compliance audits.
Monitor re/insurance debtors and creditors, process claims, and ensure the timely collection of premiums in collaboration with the underwriting and risk departments.
Ensure technical receivables are collected on time and contribute to efficient cash management in collaboration with the finance department.
Identify and report any breaches to your supervisor.
**Reporting Activities**:
Assist in issuing monthly technical financial reports to company management and the group.
Contribute to a comprehensive analysis of the performance of reinsurance programs and participate in producing insightful reports on the financial development of these programs against expectations and forecasts.
Contribute to statutory reporting to the insurance regulator (Solvency I and Solvency II) and reporting to the rating agency.
PROFIL
YOUR PROFILE
Background and Technical Skills
**Education**: Minimum Bac +3/college degree (or equivalent) with additional professional qualification or training in accounting.
**Experience**: At least 5 years of experience as an accountant in a Luxembourg-based company, with a solid understanding of Lux GAAP accounting principles.
**Additional Knowledge**: Familiarity with insurance and/or reinsurance contract rules under Lux GAAP, US GAAP, and/or IFRS is an asset.
**Industry Insight**: Understanding the legal wording of insurance and reinsurance contracts and knowledge of the Luxembourg (re-)insurance industry is advantageous.

**English and French**: Mandatory, with at least a C1 level in both oral and written communication.
IT Skills
**Accounting Systems**: Substantial working experience with at least one accounting IT system; experience with BOB 50 is an asset.
**MS Office and Excel**: Advanced knowledge.
