Senior Manager, Compliance Advisory

**What is the opportunity ?**

For our Compliance Department in Luxembourg, we are looking for a seasoned compliance professional to deal with regulatory compliance matters (ex-AML). The Senior Manager takes the lead in the regulatory change process through diagnostics, gap analyses and impact assessments. He/she is a trusted advisor to the Business stakeholders and senior management on regulatory and compliance topics and represents the bank in industry working groups addressing regulatory policy developments.

**What will you do?**
- Lead on Regulatory watch to identify and assess forthcoming regulatory developments and related regulatory and compliance risk impacting business units in conjunction with key Business and Functional stakeholders.
- Collaborate and contribute to regulatory projects, initiatives and endeavors while providing tailored and practical compliance advice.
- Continuously provide compliance advice supporting the firm in achieving its goals and accomplishment of its strategy, provide compliance assessment of new businesses, projects and initiatives.
- Ensure escalation of significant regulatory and compliance risk issues and deficiencies to relevant business supervisors, operating committees, boards of directors and compliance senior management and to this effect develop appropriate management information for quarterly Boards, Committees and Working Groups.
- In conjunction with the relevant businesses including Steering Committees and Working Groups, develop/participate to an appropriate and effective response to and resolution of compliance issues or deficiencies identified.
- Contribute to the development of the compliance training schedule for our business units. Ensure training content is aligned to current regulatory requirements and business activities of these business units. Identify training needs following regulatory developments and create such trainings.
- Provide independent oversight of regulatory watch process of RBC IS Bank’s subsidiaries and branches and provide support for inquiries raised by the local compliance officers.
- Act as back-up of the Director, Head of Compliance Advisory and provide on-going support, technical expertise and coaching to team-members.

**What do you need to succeed?**

**Must-have**
- Previous regulatory experience in Big 4, asset servicer, bank or asset manager
- Excellent knowledge of applicable laws and regulations, including CSSF circulars in Luxembourg
- Compliance experience related to investment services (MiFID, MiFIR, MAR, EMIR)
- Deep knowledge of market practices and the competition
- Efficient/advanced communications skills (both written and verbal)

**Job Summary**
- Be a key stakeholder in the bank's regulatory change process. Through diagnostics, gap analyses and impact assessments, the Senior Manager supports the implementation of new EU, international and local regulatory initiatives throughout the bank.
- Foster ownership of the Business stakeholders regarding compliance and implementation of regulations within their remit.
- Be a trusted advisor to the Business stakeholders and senior management on regulatory and compliance topics.
- Represent the bank in industry working groups addressing regulatory policy developments.
- Promote a strong culture of ethics, compliance and integrity across Lines of Business, consistent with RBC’s strategic objectives and risk appetite. Raise awareness on these aspects through the development of trainings.
