Postdoctoral Researcher in Migration History

The Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C²DH) at the University of Luxembourg is an interdisciplinary research centre committed to high-quality research and public dissemination in the field of contemporary history with a particular focus on digital methods and tools.
The C²DH's ambition is to venture off the beaten track and find new ways of doing, teaching and presenting contemporary history of Luxembourg and the history of Europe in the 20th and 21st centuries. It serves as a catalyst for innovative and creative scholarship and new forms of public dissemination.

**Your role**:
The newly created „Chaire Histoire & Migrations“ of the University of Luxemburg funded and supported by the City of Dudelange undertakes teaching, research and outreach activities relating to history and migration in Luxembourg and the Greater Region.
- Responsabilities:_
- Conduct research on the history of migration in Luxembourg and the Greater Region, based on a longitudinal study of migrants’ life histories
- Collect and review relevant literature and archival sources
- Coordinate and supervise data collection and retrieval
- Write publications, including two peer-reviewed articles and short contributions to Itinéraires croisés bis: Étrangers au Luxembourg, Luxembourgeois à l’étranger
- Coordinate a monthly newsletter on migration studies
- Contribute to the development of a travelling exhibition on the migration history of Luxembourg and the Greater Region
- Actively engage in collaboration between the C²DH, the Centre de Documentation sur les Migrations Humaines (Dudelange), and the City of Dudelange
- Organise workshops and an international conference related to migration research
- Participate in outreach activities such as conferences, training sessions, and teaching
- Contribute to research on migration within the field of contemporary history in Luxembourg and the Greater Region

**Your profile**:

- PhD in history, or alternatively a PhD in humanities or social sciences with experience in conducting historical research
- Fluency in two languages is required (English and French or German); in addition, advanced knowledge in a third language is required
- Good digital literacy
- Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate methodological, organized, pragmatic, and effective approaches to your work in collaboration with partners
- Advantageous: Research profile in the fields of Migration in Contemporary History and Public History (knowledge of museal concepts)
- Advantageous: Experience in collaboration with non-academic stakeholders
- Advantageous: Experience in organizing scientific events for a broad audience

The yearly gross salary for every Postdoctoral Researcher at the UL is EUR 85176 (full time).
