Key Purpose:
The Cleaners and Dishwash Product Marketing Manager covering Germany supports the Cleaners and Dishwash Head of Product Marketing.
He/She has a strong leadership to be able to take the role of Marketing Country Expert, ensuring the smooth running of the Marketing department covering Germany and the alignment with group targets, with one person as dotted line reporting.
He/She has a strong knowledge of the German Market and is capable of supporting the sales team and lead opportunities among the different customers.
He / she is responsible for executing a set of product portfolio projects (NPDs) identified in the 5-year plan to ensure the Cleaners and Liquid Dishwash division achieves the targeted turnover and gross margin in their respective categories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for delivering the 5-year marketing plan covering Germany and supporting the Laundry Customer Marketing Executive.
- Locally responding to market requirements by activating and customising projects to ensure the McBride product portfolio fits the German market requirements (consumer and customer fit).
- As local country expert for Cleaners and Liquid Dish wash, this role is responsible for managing the portfolio end to end, handling portfolio complexity, and focus on cost competitiveness will be key.
- Monitors brands, PL competitors and general category performance using internal and external measures. Keeps benchmarking (working with Product Development) and market maps up to date. Highlights concerns / opportunities for their local portfolio - implementing corrective actions where necessary.
- Competently manage NPD projects though our NPI online platform, ensuring correct processes are followed, financial evaluations / justifications are completed, and delivery is on time and in budget.
- Works closely with Group Product Marketing Managers to ensure local needs are fed into Group projects.
- Provides the vital conduit between Sales and Product Development (Formulation and Packaging).
- Works closely with Sales to support customer projects and requests. Recommends the best product / range and supplies all information to cost (via offer brief) for new contract opportunities / or business defence. Customer tender support is a vital part of the role.
- Create category presentations (“sell decks”) with relevant support material and present as necessary to external customers.
- Work with external suppliers, i.e. fragrance houses. Developing strong relationships and ensuring best outcomes for product offer.
- Liaise with design colleagues / agencies, when design or mock-ups are needed for customer sell in.
- To support on any market research projects / NPD concepts, as required to test new opportunities and validate assumptions.
Key Result Areas:
- YoY cost reduction / Conversion Cost per Unit development
- Contribute to the turnover and CGP (margin) as targeted both on annual basis and at a 5- year planning level for the assigned product ranges.
- Country Category net sales and margins (NSV & CGP) targets
- Private Label share targets
- Additional KPIs relating to project management are NPD completion vs targets, product portfolio rules compliance.

Technical Competencies & Qualifications:
- Fluent in German and in English
- Minimum of 5-year marketing experience in FMCG environment
- Broad understanding and appreciation of Grocery retailing
- Experience of delivering NPD through a logically planned process
- Category and brand plan experience, ability to implement successful plans that support company strategy
- Prior experience in a consumer marketing environment
- Ideally some past experience working with Private Label products and/or household products.
- Proven skill-set in Product Marketing and project management
- ability to operate effectively on international/multi-cultural basis (as a member of a Marketing team comprising colleagues in multiple locations)
- Exposure to customers / retailers.
