**Role Overview**

The **ESG & Decarbonization Program Lead Specialist**will spearhead the implementation of **Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)**, decarbonization strategies, and ESG compliance across the Rails business unit. This role is pivotal in **aligning commercial, operational, and sustainability goals**, ensuring readiness for evolving **customer expectations, regulatory frameworks, competitive dynamics, and tender requirements**.
The position directly supports the short
- and long-term **environmental strategy**of the business unit by advising management on environmental issues related to rail.

**Key Responsibilities**1. EPD Strategy & Execution**
- Lead the rollout, updates, and maintenance of EPDs for rail products/segments, including **BOF**and **EAF-based**production lines.
- Support sales and technical teams in developing a coherent sustainable approach for different segments: from basic **Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)**statements to complex LCA studies using professional software.
- Ensure **data accuracy**and compliance with **ISO 14025**and **EN 15804**standards in collaboration with technical teams.

**2. Decarbonization Roadmap**
- Develop and monitor **decarbonization plans**aligned with customer tenders and **SBTi targets**.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to **promote low-carbon steels**(e.g., XCarb) while managing BF/BOF sensitivities.

**3. ESG Tender Readiness**
- Embed ESG criteria into tender responses, including **Scope 1-3 emissions tracking**, sustainability standards, and carbon reduction plans.
- Support the commercial team with tender documentation, platform updates (including customer platforms), and follow-up on ESG/decarbonization contract requirements.
- Lead ESG/decarbonization audits required for awarded tenders and contracts.
- Integrate ESG metrics into pricing and CSR evaluations for upcoming tenders (e.g., Lot 1 and Lot 2 structures).
- Monitor local regulations and liaise with public authorities on the integration of environmental criteria in public tenders.

**4. Digitalization & Circularity**
- Work with digital teams to enhance **CRM**and **Netsteel**platforms for ESG data capture and reporting.
- Promote circular economy initiatives, including rail recovery and recycling programs in **Spain, France, Sweden, and Poland**.

**5. Stakeholder Engagement**
- Act as the ESG liaison for CMO Rails with internal and external stakeholders (SWFP, audit teams, CTO, sustainability leads).
- Represent the Rails organization at ESG-related **seminars, customer roadshows, and working groups**.
- Organize internal and external **trainings/webinars**on environmental topics.
- Meet with administrations, EPCs, general contractors, and integrators to position ArcelorMittal as a leader in rail decarbonization.
- Initial focus will be on **European markets**, requiring **fluency in English**.

**Qualifications**
**Essential**:

- MSc in **Environmental Engineering**, **Environmental Science**, or equivalent.
- Fluency in **English, French**or **Spanish would be a plus**:

- Proven experience in **ESG, sustainability, or decarbonization programs**in industrial or infrastructure sectors.
- Strong knowledge of **EPD frameworks, carbon accounting, and environmental compliance**.
- Familiarity with **SAP**and CRM platforms.
- Excellent **communication**and **stakeholder management**skills.
- Ability to collaborate in a **multicultural environment**.

**Preferred (Plus)**:

- Knowledge of **European/international environmental laws**applicable to the railway sector.
- Experience in the **railway/infrastructure**industry.
- Proficiency in **LCA software**.
- Basic knowledge of **programming/web development**to create internal/external tools.
