Patent Paralegal (M/F)

We want to expand our patent team and look for a paralegal assistant (permanent contract, part time (50%)).

The Patent Administrative Assistant is part of patent team. His/her role is to manage and monitor administrative IP aspects.

Responsabilities
- IP Database and portfolio update & maintenance

o Update Patent assets information like deadlines for extension, abandonment decisions, updates in general

o Consolidate into internal database info from National/international register

o Create new case records in relation with patent filings, legal affairs, FTO files,
- Monitor, liaise and organise

o Monitor upcoming deadlines for all IP assets and liaise with senior IP counsel

o Create accurate tasks lists accordingly,

o Prepare and coordinate monthly IP Committee for decision making, set up meeting and save minutes

o Liaise with Annuity office regarding payments

o Liaise with Patent Law firm
- Invoice and budget

o Collect, consolidate and file all invoices
- Support

o Create and send out appropriate standard letters and official letters

o Administrative support with document archiving, filing, POA signing and sending,
- IP agreements database maintenance - update

o Liaise with R&D, Legal Dpt in Paris and Patent attorneys on NDA, JDA and IP agreements

o Maintain database accordingly

Desired skills and experience
- Experience as an assistant in an intellectual property firm would be considered an advantage.
- Translation expertise would be a plus.
- Very good organizational skills.
- Knowledge of contractual and legal aspects
- Rigour, analysis (able to detect risky situation)
- International minded
- Good knowledge of Office
- Fluent in French and English
