State Street's product organisation is leading an exciting period of transformation for the business and requires an experienced solutions lead to cover our Asset Servicing Product with expertise in Traditional and Alternatives Fund Servicing and Custody to lead the design of complex operating models in support of State Street's clients.
Function
The EMEA solutions team is engaged by the Coverage organisation (CCO) to lead the design of complex operating models for existing and prospective clients. The role is typically engaged at the outset of client interaction and is critical to ensure the needs of clients are understood and then translated to an operating model the client and State Street can work to. As such the role represents the Bank, needs to fully understand State Street's capabilities and be a trusted partner to clients and internal functional partners, particularly in operations and product. The team consists of 6 people all of whom have areas of specialisation but at the same time the ability to speak broadly across all products in the State Street front, middle and back office set of capabilities. The industry is embarking on a period of significant change, and innovation where institutional investors are reviewing their operating models in order to deal with organisational change, outsourcing, efficiency and alpha realisation, this role is key to establishing a partnership between State Street and institutional investors.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Solutioning complex operating models based on detailed understanding of client requirements and goals
- Capture current and target state operating and technology architectures showing integration between the client and State Street
- Close collaboration with the CCO teams to prioritise engagements and participate in the deal team
- Close collaboration with the Alpha organisation and Alpha solution team to ensure an integrated front to back solution is designed
- Work with Global Delivery and Technology to identify challenges in operating model design and call out areas that may require technology builds and changes to the existing operating model
- Build business cases for change, showing options, cost and effort for review as part of State Street deal reviews, client change and development spend processes
- Lead the solution stage of the deal lifecycle, become a trusted partner to the client and support issue resolution through RFP and Onboarding processes
- Set internal best practice on the approach to operating model design including decision tree criteria where State Street has more than one option to resolve a client requirement
- Grow your individual knowledge of your specialist area and the broader State Street solution set such that you can engage across client types on a multiproduct basis
**Skills**
- Ability to succinctly communicate complex operating models
- Subject matter expertise in traditional Fund Services and Alternatives and how State Street delivers Alternatives solutions
- Subject matter expertise in institutional investor operating models and requirements
- Strong project management and analytical skills
- Partnership skills to break through silos across the organisation
- Excellent presentational skills and ability to use Microsoft tools
- Comfortable being on point with senior leadership with both the client and internal stakeholders
- Proven track record of working with large complex clients and establishing strong partnerships at all levels
- Strong working knowledge of technology, market infrastructures and industry partners that support institutional investors
**Experience**
- Seasoned team leader with experience in solutioning complex operating models for institutional investors
- Worked in Operational, Product, Client Service organisations in prior roles either in custodians or institutional investors
- Consultative experience working with large complex institutional investors
- Strong team player who can thrive in a large complex global organization and partner with teams performing similar functions in different parts of State Street's product mix.
