Job summary
At Amazon, we're working to be the most customer-centric company on earth. We are seeking a Procurement Manager for Packaging logistic and Labels for European Fulfillment Center Operations needs. The person in this role will coordinate with several teams across Amazon and will interact with our most important suppliers to satisfy organizational requirements.
This senior level role has dual responsibilities for optimizing packaging logistics operations and managing the labels category.
For packaging logistics, the main focus areas include leading multiple cross-functional project teams across Europe to develop new programs for supply chain management. Key responsibilities involve managing projects to expand the scope and geographic reach of existing logistics initiatives. Business cases must be built and defended to senior leadership to obtain approval for launching new facilities and growing programs. Program management, reporting on metrics, and stakeholder engagement are essential to implement solutions and monitor progress towards cost savings targets.
The second component of this role involves category management for labels procurement. A strategic sourcing approach must be developed and roadmap created to identify cost reduction opportunities over multiple years. Cross-regional teams will be directed to negotiate framework agreements and identify savings through standardization and automation. Supplier relationships at a senior level must be proactively managed to continually optimize performance, address any supply issues, and add value through regular review meetings.
Strong analytical and collaboration skills are needed to successfully drive programs across international operations and departments. Experience in supply chain, procurement, and project management in required. The ability to conceptualize new frameworks and engage stakeholders effectively is important for leading complex, large-scale initiatives that significantly improve logistics operations and lower costs through both process improvements and strategic sourcing.
LOCATION
**Role could be located in London, Luxembourg, Barcelona, Paris. Preferable location is Luxembourg.
Key job responsibilities
- Lead multiple cross-functional project teams to develop and expand packaging logistics optimization programs across Europe.
- Build comprehensive business cases and defend proposals to senior leadership to obtain approval for new initiatives.
- Oversee the implementation of approved solutions and monitor progress towards cost savings and performance targets.
- Develop and execute a strategic sourcing approach for the labels category to identify savings opportunities.
- Direct cross-regional teams to negotiate framework agreements and standardize sourcing and procurement processes.
- Proactively manage senior-level supplier relationships through regular performance reviews and issue resolution.
- Conceptualize new supply chain frameworks, engage stakeholders effectively, and collaborate across departments and regions.
A day in the life
**Morning**:
Kickoff meeting with project team leads to review status and issues on xDock expansion projects
Review overnight reports on key metrics like dock traffic, lead times, pallet space utilization
**Mid-morning**:
Meet with SPOC to refine negotiation strategy for 3PL contracts
Check-in with suppliers on upcoming opportunities or issues
**Afternoon**:
Connect with key stakeholders to draft Draft business case for new xDock building
Review progress on strategic sourcing initiatives for labels category
**Late afternoon**:
Discussstock levels with the label suppliers to ensure supply for the following 3 weeks.
Discuss with Finance Savings forecasting vs Actuals deviation
**Evening**:
Prepare for next day's meetings and continue working on building future business cases to further scale up packaging logistics optimization across Europe.
