**How will you contribute?**:
You will be mainly in charge of:

- the fabrication of polymer multilayer capacitors, employing a technique that is well mastered at LIST. We focus on developing copolymer and terpolymer polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) films with various compositions to enhance their performance characteristics
- undertaking the characterization of these materials to assess their electrocaloric effect, once the PVDF multilayers are successfully fabricated
- utilizing a range of advanced equipment including our state-of-the-art infrared camera, which allows for precise thermal imaging, and differential scanning calorimetry, a technique that measures heat flow associated with phase transitions in the materials.
- gaining hands-on experience with the Aixacct characterization equipment, which is specifically designed for dielectric and ferroelectric measurements
- focusing on optimizing the fabrication process of the polymer films. This optimization is aimed at achieving improved electrocaloric performance, thereby contributing to the advancement of sustainable cooling technologies.

**Education**
- Master 1 or Master 2 in Materials sciences or similar

**Experience and skills**
- basic electrical materials characterization methods, bases in coding and in finite element modelling

**Language skills**
- Good level both written and spoken English
