DESCRIPTION
Amazon is seeking a high performing Finance Manager to partner with Network Design driving EU Inbound and Outbound network connectivity optimization within the current year (Peak, off-Peak) and beyond (1-3 years).
As a Finance Manager, you will be partnering across Business units to make end-to-end optimal network decisions. You will own the financial framework to optimize network connectivity and identify opportunities to streamline/automate planning processes. You will directly influence business decisions, and the long-term strategy to improve Cost-to-Serve via network design improvements. This is an exciting role for a Finance Manager who enjoys analytics and is keen to influence business strategy.
Key job responsibilities
- Building scalable mechanisms to drive efficient network design across First Mile, Middle Mile, and Last Mile nodes
- Leading financial analysis and due diligence to drive network connectivity decisions that maximize Amazon cashflows
- Engaging with partner teams to deep dive and improve network planning inputs across organizations (ATS, AMZL, CF, SWA, etc.)
- Making finance recommendations to senior leaders, considering the financial impact of network changes throughout the year and beyond
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, statistics or business, or a Bachelor's degree and experience in quantitative role (engineering, process re-engineering, quality assurance)
- Experience in tax, finance or a related analytical field
- Experience in multiple finance and accounting roles
- Experience in accounts receivable or account payable
- Experience in building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making
- Experience in creating process improvements with automation and analysis
- Experience participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA, or CPA
- Knowledge of SQL/ETL
- Experience in identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan
- Experience in solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits)
- Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)
- Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results
