Sr Risk Program Manager Job Description

Key job responsibilities

Core responsibilities:

- Serve as a key member of the Payments & Risk team focused on developing a robust, actionable payment operations programs.
- Designing and implementing an overall risk management process for the organization, which includes an analysis of the financial impact on Amazon Pay when risks occur.
- Performing a risk assessment: analyzing and evaluating previous handling and current business risks which includes fraud attacks, bad debt generation root causes and transaction decline rate analysis.
- Establishing and presenting proposals about the level of business risk Amazon Pay is willing to take.
- Generate risk reports tailored to the relevant audience: educating the Amazon Pay leadership team about the most significant risks to the business; ensuring business overall understand the risks that might affect their departments; ensuring individuals understand their own accountability for individual risks.
- Explaining the external risk posed by corporate governance to stakeholders by communicating and driving payment compliance requirements with payment network rules.
- Creating business continuity plans and propose processes and operating procedures to limit risks and Amazon Pay financial exposure.
- Work with the Finance team to any new major contracts or internal business proposals to ensure the right fees are applied and tailored to the merchant vertical risk.
- Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company.
- Deliver meaningful data analysis and insights to drive decisions on payment processing improvements.
- Anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints.
- Work closely with product managers and technical teams to ensure payment products are built with operations in mind
