**Context**:
**Key Responsibilities**:
SOX Compliance Management:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance activities.
- Develop and implement SOX compliance policies, procedures, and controls.
- Coordinate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure timely completion of SOX testing and audits.
Compliance Project Management:
- Manage compliance-related projects from initiation to completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budget constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement in compliance processes and systems.
External Audit Coordination:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors during SOX audits and other compliance-related audits.
- Prepare audit documentation, respond to audit inquiries, and facilitate audit meetings and walkthroughs.
IT Group Compliance:
- Collaborate with IT teams to ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies.
- Evaluate IT controls, identify weaknesses, and recommend/implement remediation actions.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay up-to-date with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting the company's operations.
- Develop and implement compliance programs to address regulatory requirements effectively.
Internal Controls and Risk Management:
- Assess and strengthen internal control frameworks to mitigate risks across business processes.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify control gaps, and develop risk mitigation strategies.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) and relevant certifications (e.g., CPA, CISA, CRMA) are preferred.
- Demonstrable progressive experience in SOX compliance, internal controls, risk management, and regulatory compliance within a complex corporate environment.
- Strong project management skills with a proven track record of successfully managing compliance projects and initiatives.
- Experience working with external auditors and managing audit processes.
- In-depth knowledge of SOX compliance requirements, COSO framework, and relevant regulatory standards (e.g., SEC, PCAOB).
- Familiarity with IT compliance frameworks (e.g., COBIT, ITIL) and experience working closely with IT teams.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams and levels of the organization.
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
