**STAFF DATA SCIENTIST - DES**

- Develop an understanding of the tire industry and how modeling complex business systems can help Goodyear make more data driven business decisions.
- Collaborate with senior Data Science & Analytics team members to implement forward looking technology strategies in the area of modeling and optimization of complex business systems.
- Drive technology advancement in modeling, optimization and scheduling of complex systems to address the corporate business needs.
- Evaluate new technologies as they come into the market.
- Have an impact by helping us drive “best data practices” and share insights across the company.

**What We Need**:

- PhD in Data Science (or related field) or Master's Degree in Data Science (or related field) with 3+ years of experience in developing and deploying programmatic and/or discrete event models.
- Demonstrated experience in solving challenging technical problems with experience in discrete event simulation, optimization and operations research.
- Programming Languages & Scripting (Python, C++)
- Data Engineering (handling data, working with multiple databases, leveraging data pipelines)
- Operation Research Applications (supply chain, manufacturing, scheduling, optimization)

**Social and Communication**:

- Strong communication skills: capable of conveying information concisely to diverse audiences; experience with communicating the dynamics of complex systems in a concise and clear manner.
- Good teamwork skills: ability to network across a global organization; ability to convince and lead; active listening skills; ability to prioritize and follow through; ability to communicate and agree on expectations; ability to work in a team environment and deliver results on time.
