Underwriting Manager

**Role Overview**
As Underwriting Manager you'll shape our embedded insurance portfolio across multiple lines of business, including motor, property, and extended warranty.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Develop and manage profitable insurance portfolios
- Create and implement underwriting guidelines
- Evaluate risks and propose mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with product managers and actuaries on pricing
- Analyse complex data sets for informed decision-making
- Review policy terms and documentation
- Engage with partners and stakeholders
- Challenge and improve pricing models
- Stay current with industry trends and regulations
- Participate in product development discussions
**Required Experience & Skills**:
- Extensive non-life insurance underwriting experience
- Strong background in fleet portfolios or MGA development
- Risk assessment and actuarial pricing expertise
- Hands-on experience with embedded insurance
- European market knowledge
- Quantitative/actuarial background preferred
- Excellent analytical and communication skills
- Fluent English (additional languages a plus)
**Educational Requirements**:
- Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Risk Management, Finance, Mathematics, or related field
- Advanced degrees or professional certifications advantageous
**Technical Skills**:
- Advanced spreadsheet and data analysis capabilities
- Understanding of insurance regulations
- Risk assessment methodologies
- Portfolio management tools
**Work Arrangement**
Permanent Employees:
- Luxembourg residents: 2 days office/week
- Border country residents: 34 remote days/year
Freelance:
- Full remote possible
- Quarterly in-person meetings
- Must be EU-based within 2 hours time zone of Luxembourg
