The Customer eXperience Impressions (CXI) team within Amazon's Supply Chain Optimization Technologies (SCOT) organization is seeking a Principal Business Intelligence Engineer (BIE) with experience building complex Big Data products and depth of analytics/modeling skills, to join us in delivering the insights needed to continuously raise the bar on the shopping experience that Amazon presents to customers worldwide via its online stores.

Our team is responsible for developing data products, generating reports, and deriving science-backed insights to measure the customer experience, supply chain health, and access Amazon's ability to fulfill customers' shopping needs. As a team within the SCOT org, we are well positioned to develop novel solutions to evolve our supply chain decisions towards improving the customer experience. Our focus is constant innovation for customer benefit. Unlike brick and mortar stores where it is challenging to capture customer interest in a product unless they purchase the item, e-commerce offers the unique advantage of capturing customer shopping impressions even if they don't convert to sales. Our impressions-based products serve as a leading indicators of potential future demand. They allow us to capture a comprehensive set of data points, such as product, price, and delivery speed. This data helps us understand both what we presented to the customer and their subsequent behavior.

As a Principal BIE on the CXI team, you will need to understand what information is valuable to our internal customers, and work with product and engineering teams to design data models that are necessary to extract comprehensive business insights. Given Amazon's scale, our systems handle a data load of 170 TB per day and 12 million TPS during peak times. We will rely on your expertise to ensure data quality and to invent solutions that offer business insights. You will serve as the primary contact for customers seeking guidance on using our products.

Key job responsibilities
- Your role demands forward-thinking to ensure scalability without added operational burden.
- You will be required to acquire a deep understanding of our systems and those across Amazon to identify synergies and avoid duplication.
- You will perform critical analysis to inform product design and prioritize business needs.
- You will seek scale and automation, while balancing short-term and long-term requirements, and work with various teams to improve our data products.
- You will collaborate with product managers to identify the most promising business problems, create a cohesive roadmap that makes the best use of available resources, evangelize product features to our internal customers, accelerate feature adoption, track the realized impacts, and communicate results.

Luxembourg, LUX
- Experience communicating insights from complicated analyses to senior leadership to help guide high-impact business decisions
- Experience designing and implementing end-to-end Big Data systems
- Experience using Cloud Storage and Computing technologies such as AWS Redshift, S3, Hadoop, etc.
- Experience with theory and practice of designing experiments/Weblabs and statistical analysis of results
