The EIB, the European Union's bank, is seeking to recruit for its **Group Risk & Compliance Directorate (GR&C) - Group Financial Risk Department (GFIN) - Risk Data and Processes Division (RDP) - Data and Reporting Governance Unit (DRG)**, at its headquarters in Luxembourg**:TRAINEE**
**_ Duration: 5 months (fixed start date: 1_**_st_**_ March/April 2025)_**
**_ (With possible extension up to 6 months if required by University)_**
**Objective of the traineeship**:
The objective of this traineeship is to support the Internal Control, Data and Reporting Governance functions within EIB's Risk Management by contributing to various key processes aimed at enhancing data quality, governance, and reporting accuracy. Internal Control Framework-related activities for GR&C-RM would provide knowledge on how to link risks with processes and controls and how to perform risk assessment and to valuate test results. In addition, you will assist in ensuring compliance with reporting standards, and supporting data governance initiatives, while gaining exposure to a broad range of corporate risk management and data management activities.
**Responsibilities**:
Your main responsibilities will be to:
- Support the ICF Coordinator in Risk Management (GR&C-RM) in the annual maintenance process, by:
- Participating in meetings with RM teams and keeping meeting minutes,
- Performing analysis linked to quarterly internal reporting;
- Perform the annual reviews for scheduled reports in Business Objects with Risk Management teams; review Business Objects cover pages compliance with EIB Reporting Governance Framework etc.
- Support the data officers in the team in updating IBM Business Glossary, contributing thus to the production of data quality dashboards for Key Risk Indicators and critical data elements
- Support the annual review of data ownership by providing additional explanation to data owners and update the Business Glossary when applicable.
**Academic qualifications and professional skills**:
- Final year of studies or University degree in relevant domain, preferably Mathematics, Computer Science or Economics or related fields
- Experience in databases or knowledge of any programming language or BI reporting tool such as Business Objects would be an advantage
- Experience in internal audit, internal controls or accounting would be an advantage
- Knowledge of data management and/or governance topics would be an advantage
- Good knowledge of the Bank’s purpose, organization and business activities
- Proficiency in MS Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Powerpoint)
- Excellent knowledge of written and spoken English. Knowledge of other EU language would be an advantage.
