**Senior Java Developer (EU Project - Hybrid in Luxembourg)**

**Location**: Luxembourg (2 days onsite per week)
**Rate**: €570 per day (freelance contract)
**Duration**: 4 years

**About the Role**

Join a prestigious long-term IT project at a major EU institution.

We're looking for a Senior Java Developer to design, build, and maintain modern, secure software systems that handle legislative and legal documents across the EU. You'll work on complex technical solutions within a hybrid team environment, combining hands-on development with solution design and integration.

This position offers a 4-year contract, a hybrid setup (2 days onsite per week in Luxembourg), and the opportunity to contribute to software systems used across Europe.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Design and develop cloud-based and on-premise software systems for document management and dissemination.
- Build and integrate microservices, APIs (REST/SOAP), and scalable Java-based components.
- Implement data ingestion, processing, and storage pipelines in cloud environments (AWS).
- Support solution design, UI implementation, testing, and rollout.
- Collaborate with developers, architects, and EU stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure delivery.
- Maintain technical documentation and participate in project and stakeholder meetings.

**Technical Skills**
- **Languages & Frameworks**: Java, JavaScript (NodeJS), Spring Boot
- **Web & APIs**: RESTful, SOAP, Microservices architecture
- **Formats**: Akoma Ntso (AKN4EU), XML, HTML, XHTML, Formex
- **Databases**: Oracle, MySQL, PL/SQL
- **Cloud & DevOps**: AWS (EC2, S3, Terraform), Docker, Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, Bamboo)
- **Application Servers**: WebLogic, Tomcat
- **Testing & QA**: Sonar, JUnit, MUnit

**Your Profile**
- Proven experience in software engineering and cloud solution design.
- Strong skills in Java development and microservices-based architecture.
- Experience with document management or data publishing systems is a plus.
- Familiar with AWS, Docker, and modern DevOps pipelines.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities in English (C1) and French (B2)
- EU citizenship required (for project security clearance).
