The role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Credit Risk Analyst (CRC) to join the bank in Luxembourg. The successful candidate will be responsible for focusing on the credit risk assessment of clients and the ongoing monitoring of the assigned credit portfolio, focused on exposures across Europe. The role involves active participation in the processes of analysis, recommendation, and follow-up of credit transactions, with a comprehensive view of client exposure and performance under coverage.
Day-to-day responsibilities:
- Perform detailed financial and sector analysis, including review of financial statements, cash flow projections, and key ratios, to assess the counterparty's creditworthiness and risk profile.
- Prepare credit memos and recommendations for Risk Committees in coordination with internal teams, focusing on risk rationale, contractual terms, collateral, and control metrics.
- Be actively involved throughout the credit process, including client contact, site visits, credit evaluation, case presentation, review and negotiation of credit agreements, etc.
- Prepare periodic reports for internal and external stakeholders (business, risk, audit, or regulators), including portfolio analysis, performance tracking, deviations, and alerts.
- Support the credit business, improving governance, policies and processes.
What we expect from you:
- University degree completed, preferably in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Prior experience in credit analysis, risk management, corporate banking, or related field.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment in risk evaluation.
- Proficiency in financial tools, especially Microsoft Excel.
- Fluency in English is mandatory; either Portuguese or Spanish are required.
- Proactive attitude and ability to work effectively in demanding, result-driven environments and collaborative teams.
