We are currently seeking an intern, to join our Application team to keep Husky at forefront of technological advancements for injection molding, in packaging, medical, specialty applications and sustainability.

Objective

This internship offers practical exposure to laboratory-scale plastic processing technology. The intern will focus on documenting, analyzing, and improving a small-scale plastic processing test stand used for research and development purposes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bill of Materials (BOM): Create a detailed BOM for the existing lab-scale plastic processing test stand.
  • Cost Estimation: Estimate the cost of building a new test stand based on the BOM and current component pricing.
  • Improvement Review: Evaluate the current design and propose enhancements to improve usability, accuracy, and efficiency.
  • Test Procedure Optimization: Analyze and refine the test procedure to ensure repeatability, reliability, and reduced cycle time.
  • Work Instructions: Develop clear, step-by-step work instructions for safe and standardized operation of the test stand.

Learning Outcomes

  • Hands-on experience with laboratory-scale plastic processing equipment.
  • Skills in technical documentation, cost analysis, and process optimization.
  • Understanding of experimental setup design and continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to translate engineering processes into clear operator instructions.

Candidate Profile

  • Currently enrolled in Master studies in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interest in manufacturing processes and laboratory-scale experimentation.
  • Ability to work independently and communicate findings effectively.

Duration: 6 months
