This is an exciting opportunity to join our Valuation team at Lux Gen II, on a 6-months mandatory end-of-studies internship.
What you'll be doing
Your role may include, but will not be limited to, the following tasks which we call 'Defined Business Activities'. The list of defined business activities is not exhaustive and may be amended from time to time:
- Develop & implement sound, technically rigorous, transparent, comprehensive & appropriate documented procedures & processes for model building and reviewing such as DCF models, comparable company models, market multiple, option pricing analyses, loan valuation, real estate valuation, etc.
- For each portfolio valuation, (i) determine necessary information, identify information owners, set-up instructions & templates, and establish communication flows, (ii) define methodologies to value assets, and (iii) determine related limits.
- Perform the periodic asset valuation for alternative assets and prepare valuation reports
- Independently gathering data pertinent to the valuation through direct client interaction, checking quality of input data.
- Analyze valuation reports prepared by external valuers
- Present the results of your analysis in a clear and concise manner
- Liaising with auditors on valuation matters
- Oversee NAV calculations
- Escalate valuation issues to senior valuation officer / Head of Valuation
The ideal background for this role:
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's of master's degree in finance/economics or related field.
Experience & Knowledge
- Interest in valuation of private equity, debt and real estate assets
- Good understanding of multiples assets classes and investment strategies
- Experience in Alternative Investment Funds is desirable
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Preferably having a good knowledge of Luxembourg fund regulations, in particular AIFMD
- Knowledge of VBA and SQL is preferred
Skills and Abilities
- Communication skills with an ability to handle multiple business tasks
- Fluency in English language, both written and spoken
- Good working knowledge of French, or any European language
- Ability to interact clearly and efficiently with external service providers
- Strong analytical, comprehension & problem-solving skills, as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
- Highly organized & dynamic
- High level of accuracy & attention to detail
Role Location/Hybrid Schedule
This role is based in our Luxembourg office. Although the nature of most of the roles within Gen II cannot be classed as totally flexible, there is scope in some cases for a form of Agile Working. The different ways in which Agile Working can be undertaken is dependent on the demands and needs of the business, the office space available and the individual's preferences and circumstances.
