Data Science Intern (data quality & metadata)

Join us for a 4–6 month internship and contribute to finding and improving existing open data for use in a number of projects at LNDS.

Your Mission

  • Find and extract relevant datasets from the Open Data Platform and other sources
  • Assess data quality and identify areas for improvements
  • Perform data cleaning and curation
  • Transform and curate metadata to domain-relevant profiles

What you will learn

  • Work closely with data scientists and domain experts to prepare datasets for downstream analytics and research
  • Gain hands-on experience with open data pipelines, metadata standards, and real-world data quality challenges in production environments

Core Skills & Profile

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Science, or related fields
  • Solid grasp of research data management best practice, FAIR data principles, data quality, data and metadata standards
  • Familiarity with Python and RDF
  • Interest in semantic web technologies and basic knowledge of ETL
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Learning-oriented and proactive mindset
  • Proficient in English

Location: Esch-sur-Alzette (Belval Campus)

Duration: 4–6 months

Join us as a Communication & Strategy Intern for 4–6 months starting February 2026 and gain hands-on experience in international partnerships and creative communication projects.
