This role encompasses the management of financial and non-financial risks for our Luxembourg-based Super ManCo, authorized as Alternative Investment Fund Manager (AIFM) and Chapter 15 Management Company (UCITS), as well as the Funds under their supervision. Reporting directly to the Conducting Officer responsible for the Risk Management Function, you will cover a range of strategies, including illiquid asset classes such as Real Estate, Private Equity, and Private Credit.
About the Department:Permanent Risk Management Function – Luxembourg / EMEA
Our team, based in Luxembourg, is responsible for ensuring an independent and integrated risk oversight framework for Franklin Templeton across EMEA. The function identifies, monitors, and reports financial and non-financial risks across UCITS and AIF structures, ensuring compliance with local regulations and internal policies. We maintain robust communication channels with portfolio management, participate in governance committees, and oversee risk profiles for diverse strategies, including illiquid assets such as Real Estate, Private Equity, and Private Credit. The team leverages global resources and specialized tools to deliver timely risk assessments, policy updates, and regulatory reporting, supporting sound decision-making and safeguarding investor interests.
How you will add value:Develop, review, and enhance internal policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure adherence to risk management best practices, regulatory standards, and internal control objectives.
Develop and implement risk indicators, measurement methods and risk profiling processes for a range of asset classes.
Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities and propose strategies to mitigate risks.
Conduct periodic portfolio reviews, model validation, policy update, procedure enhancement and risk reporting.
Design and execute testing procedures to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, identifying deficiencies and areas for improvement. Develop monitoring mechanisms to track and report on performance.
Evolve risk models and procedures to adapt to new laws and regulations.
Identify opportunities to streamline processes, enhance controls, and optimize operational efficiencies through the implementation of innovative solutions and best practices.
Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to facilitate audit planning, provide documentation and evidence as required, and address any findings or recommendations from audit activities.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate employees on risk management, risk control policies, procedures, and compliance requirements, fostering a culture of accountability and integrity throughout the organization.

What will help you be successful in this role:Bachelor's degree or above in economics, financial, or quantitative fields.
Minimum 3 years' professional experience in the fund industry as Risk Analyst or similar role in Luxembourg
Good understanding of regulatory requirements of Luxembourg and EU and industry standards.
Sound knowledge of core risk management concepts, asset management and the regulatory framework.
Technical knowledge of financial markets, valuation methodologies and risk models (e.g., DCF, Multiple Approach, VaR, and stress testing)
Understanding of key drivers of alternative asset classes with knowledge in Real Estate, Private Equity or Private Credit.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate complex topics proactively and effectively facilitating decision making.
Strong team player, pro-active attitude, and high level of initiative
Excellent written and spoken skills in English. French would be an asset.
Good knowledge of general office applications and data analysis tools (PowerBI, eFront, Aladdin)
Industry certifications are a plus (e.g., CFA, FRM, CAIA)
