Financial Controller

Based in the UK and happy to relocate to Luxembourg? This role offers a relocation package and a base of €100-120K, plus bonus and benefits.

Our client, a global asset management firm with a mix of assets ranging from unsecured loans, commercial and non-commercial loans, to direct real estate and shipping is seeking an experienced Financial Controller to look after investments across the group.

The successful candidate will:

Act as the financial lead for a portfolio of investments ensuring maximised returns and reduced operational risk

Ensure financial compliance (tax and regulatory reporting) is met to the highest possible standards)

Ensure that accurate records for all legal entities are maintained

Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts for the fund and for fund statutory reporting in the relevant GAAP (Lux and IFRS) in a timely manner

Deliver accurate tax returns for the group

Ensure all relevant systems of control are in place, documented and utilised to minimise financial risks, including:

• • Misappropriation of funds
  • Cash transfer errors
  • Misstatement of MI
  • Manage Cash Management and Senior Fund Reporting including payments authorised, senior funding and associated reports and distribution of free case to investors in compliance with deal structures.

  Skills/Experience:

  The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role. They will particularly required to have:

  Essential

  Minimum 5+ years post qualification experience

  Demonstrable experience in Real Estate, NPL and/or emerging market

  Understanding of tax requirements in a variety of European jurisdictions with focus on Luxembourg 

  Fluent in English

  Ideally 3-4 years experience in a Big 4 firm

  Experience with consolidation and Debt Servicing an advantage 

  Desirable

  Knowledge of US GAAP/IFRS/ other European GAAP an advantage 

  Experience in liquidations would be an advantage
