Goal

We are looking for a Data Engineer/Scientist with strong technical and analytical skills as well as domain expertise in finance and insurance to join our team. You will play a key role in leveraging data to improve risk assessment, pricing strategies, fraud detection, customer segmentation, and operational efficiency. This role requires a deep understanding of financial modeling, insurance products, and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Design, enhance, and maintain ETL pipelines across the full data lifecycle
  • Analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured data to identify trends, patterns, and insights relevant to financial and insurance operations.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, finance, and underwriting teams to enhance data models and data landscape.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting tools to support decision-making across departments.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, privacy regulations, and industry standards.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Profile

  • Master's degree or higher in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the finance or insurance industry, preferably in a data science or data engineering role
  • Strong programming skills in SQL, SAS or similar languages
  • Solid understanding of data architecture, data warehousing solutions, ETL processes, business intelligence
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. SAS VA, Power BI).
  • Solid understanding of financial metrics, insurance products, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., Solvency II).
  • Perfect knowledge and utilization of MS Office, especially MS Excel including VBA.
  • You are fluent in English, additional foreign languages (e.g. French, German) are considered an asset.
