We're looking for a Junior Software Developer, DevOps who can help us support the development organization to deliver value to customers in a reliable, efficient, and safe manner. You'll be supporting the team that owns one or more pieces of the production application environment and the developer experience. In line with Hootsuite's distributed workforce strategy, our flexible work arrangement allows for a hybrid model. This role is open to applicants located in Luxembourg, Luxembourg. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, DevOps.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Write software - tools, libraries, automation, servicesBuild and maintain our infrastructure platformImplement new platform featuresAssist in the research and evaluation of new technologiesRefactor, rewrite or retire existing platform featuresOperate our developer experience and production application environments
Diagnose and repair our distributed systemsPerform maintenance, upgrades,, and migrationsControl or eliminate repetitive tasks, alert noise, and business-as-usual workEnable development teams
Provide executable interfaces to our infrastructure platformProvide tools and best practices to support the entire software development lifecycleCommunicate by writing documentation, participating in meetings, and showing off your

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
Entry level experience working in an SRE, DevOps or software engineering roleAn ability to write software and working knowledge of software engineering practiceExperience using infrastructure-as-code tools to build and run cloud infrastructureExperience working on fast-paced Agile teams and continuously evolving environmentsOpen Communication: clearly conveys thoughts, both written and verbally, listening attentively and asking questions for clarification and understandingCollaboration and Teamwork: works with others to deliver results, meaningfully contributing to the team and prioritizing group needs over individual needsSelf Development: is personally committed to, and actively works to continuously improveProblem Solving: uses an organized and logical approach to find solutions to complex problems. Looks beyond the obvious to understand the root cause of problemsPreferred. Working knowledge of Linux systems administration, including troubleshooting system-level issues, networking (L3-L7) and basic monitoringPreferred. Experience with operating, building and maintaining cloud infrastructurePreferred.
