**Spacecraft Subsystem Assembly & Test Technician**
thruster and deep-space avionics stack.
You will be an instrumental member of our new team building out a set of key spacecraft components.
The operation is new, based in Luxembourg as a spin-off of Deep Space Industries (California) and Bradford
Space (Netherlands). Our team in Luxembourg will be kept small (~20 people) and will focus on the single
objective of building a reliable, performing, and efficient subsystems for upcoming satellites, deep-space
smallsats and even lunar landers. You would be responsible for the precise and consistent assembly and
testing of our new water thruster and deep-space avionics products.
The operation will aim to blend the responsible, high-quality engineering practices of traditional
aerospace engineering while implementing the rapid iterative development methods and dynamic
workplace culture of a New-Space style start-up.
Essential Characteristics
- Practical experience working with electronic and mechanical hardware
- An attention to detail and consistency of work
- Diligence, dexterity and patience when working with tiny assemblies
- Ability to build and rework electronics assemblies (including SMT soldering)
- A positive, energetic and self-driving attitude
- Proficient English language skills
Valued Characteristics
- Prior work in the space, aviation or automotive sectors
- Experience with procedure-led manufacture and testing
- Familiarity with ultrasonic or IPA cleaning
- Working knowledge of MRP and lifecycle management systems
- Familiarity with test software (Labview, VBA, Lua, Python etc)
- Possession of any industry-recognised professional certifications (IPC J-STD, etc)
- Experience working in cleanrooms or other controlled workspaces
- Experience running test campaigns (temperature, vacuum, vibration, EMC, leak or radiation)
- Ability to read engineering drawings (electrical, fluidic, mechanical)
- Competences in tool use, maintenance and calibration
- Expertise in workshop & workflow organisation & management
Key responsibilities
- Assembly, integration and testing of recurring water propulsion products
- Assembly, integration and testing of recurring avionics products
- Management, verification and reporting of test data
- Collaboration with and feedback to engineers on product manufacturing improvements
- Manage and maintain a manufacturing facility and its tooling
- Ensure compliance to quality control measures
