The design may include considerations for scalability, availability, security, performance, and cost optimization.
- **Cloud Platform Evaluation**: Assess different cloud platforms and services to determine the most suitable options for the organization. Evaluate factors like compatibility with existing systems, cost-effectiveness, scalability, reliability, and security. The architect makes recommendations on the selection of cloud providers and services.
- **Infrastructure Design**: Design the cloud infrastructure, including computing resources, storage, networking, and security configurations. Define the architecture to ensure scalability, fault tolerance, and high availability. They also consider aspects like data backup, disaster recovery, and monitoring.
- **Integration Planning**: Identify integration points between existing systems and the cloud solution. Design data migration strategies, define APIs and interfaces, and ensure smooth data flow and synchronization between on-premises and cloud environments. They may also plan for hybrid cloud or multi-cloud architectures if required.
- **Collaboration and Communication**: Collaborate with various stakeholders, including developers, operations teams, and business users. Provide technical guidance, clarify requirements, and resolve architectural issues. They also communicate the solution design and its benefits to non-technical stakeholders.
- **Technical Leadership**: Provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Guide development teams, review code and architecture, and ensure adherence to best practices and standards. Assist in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues during implementation.
- **Performance Optimization**: Monitor the performance of the cloud solution and identifies opportunities for optimization. Analyze performance metrics, conduct load testing, and fine-tune configurations to optimize resource utilization, scalability, and responsiveness.
- **Documentation and Governance**: Create documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and deployment guides. Ensure proper documentation of design decisions, configurations, and guidelines. Contribute to the establishment of governance processes and standards for cloud solutions. The solution architect's role involves a combination of technical expertise, business understanding, and effective communication to design and implement successful cloud-based solutions.
**Tasks**
- Interact with stakeholders, including business managers, project managers, and end users, to gather information about business processes, technical constraints, and desired outcomes, defining the scope of the solution
- Designs the architecture and technical specifications for cloud-based solutions, considering scalability, availability, security, performance, and cost optimization, while also ensuring planned maintenance of Azure infrastructure resources is carried out as necessary
- Controls the creation of new resources with a focus on aligning manual or automated processes with architectural standards
- Creates documentation, including architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and deployment guides, ensuring proper documentation of design decisions, configurations, and guidelines, contributing to the establishment of governance processes and standards for cloud solutions
- Works on ways to automate and improve development and release processes by establishing continuous integration/continuous deployment pipelines in Azure DevOps
- Document tasks, including incidents and changes, in Azure DevOps and ServiceNow
**Requirements**:
- Master’s degree (BAC +5 or equivalence) in a relevant field such as Information technology;
- 5+ years of relevant experience in **cloud solutions** architecture.
- Excellent verbal and written English communication skills;
- Strong technical knowledge in cloud computing, with specific expertise in **Azure**.
- An engaging style with a solution-oriented mindset.
- It is mandatory to possess at least three prior relevant experiences in the field.
- **Valid work permit in Luxembourg is mandatory.
