**Subcontractor Manager - Space Projects**

iO associates are partnering with a space company in Luxembourg who require a Subcontractor Manager for Space and Satellite Projects to join their team. Our client focus on space systems, especially for Micro Satellites.
**Role responsibilities**:
- As a procurement specialist for satellites, you'll handle the acquisition of subsystems and equipment, including payload components and ground support items. This involves managing subcontract documents and negotiations to ensure timely, cost-effective, and high-quality outcomes from suppliers.
- Acting as the primary point of contact with subcontractors, you'll handle administrative, commercial, and scheduling matters throughout the project and conduct regular program and management reviews during the subcontract period.
- Working in an international context, you'll lead a competitive tendering process to source the required subsystems and equipment, gaining insights into prices and cost drivers to meet financial targets.
- You will be maintaining a comprehensive database of subcontractors and suppliers and you'll also focus on fostering subcontractor development, maintaining positive relationships, and monitoring their performance to implement necessary corrective actions for quality outcomes.
- Your expertise will extend to managing commercial and institutional procurements to meet customer requirements, including support for commercial satellite proposals. You'll issue requests for information and quotation (RFI/RFQ) to potential subcontractors and suppliers and play a key role in their preselection based on qualifications and capabilities.
- This role requires an individual with strong negotiation skills as you will be conducting price and contract negotiations, especially within securing new business, ensuring stability and continuity in the procurement process.
- Lastly, you'll keep all stakeholders informed by providing regular reports on the status and progress of procurement activities.

**Role requirements**:
- University degree in Engineering field
- Experience with working with Satellites
- ESA Workflow knowledge methodology
- At least 5+ years' experience in satellite subsystems and equipment
- Excellent negotiation skills
