**Your Role...**
The group Physics of active matter headed by Prof. Fodor has recently developed mínimal models for a new class of living systems called pulsating active matter. This class entails contractile biological tissues which feature the emergence of deformation waves. To study the energetics of pulsating active matter, there is a dire need to numerically study some thermodynamically consistent models.

The technician will perform:

- Some numerical simulations of models of thermodynamically consistent pulsating active matter
- This will include large scale simulations using the High Performance Computer available free of charge in Luxembourg
- The main task will be to write and optimize numerical codes, and to run an efficient search in parameter space to identify relevant regimes where deformation waves develop

**What we expect from you**
- Scientist with a background in physics with a Bachelor degree
- Very good grades and references
- Fluent in English
- Good communication skills with ability to discuss with students and teaching staff
- Proficiency in working and communicating in a multicultural environment
