The **Luxembourg Centre for Contemporary and Digital History (C2DH) **is a **research **centre** for the study, analysis and public dissemination of contemporary history of Luxembourg and Europe with a particular focus on digital methods and tools for doing innovative historical research. It serves as a catalyst for **innovative** and **creative** scholarship and new forms of public dissemination and societal engagement with history.

**Your Role...**:
As a researcher you will push the boundaries of data analysis in digital history. Embedded in a team of committed historians, designers, and developers you will advocate the use of data analysis at the center and seek for new opportunities to demonstrate its potential. You will collaborate with our partner institutions in Luxembourg and all over the world to establish new paradigms for data analysis. We expect you to disseminate the results of your research widely. In your day to day work you will consult colleagues at the center with advice on tailor made solutions for their data analysis challenges. In a strategic perspective, your goal is to shape the discourse on data analysis in the wider community of digital humanities and history.

**What we expect from you**:

- PhD in data science, computer science, information science, digital humanities, design or related disciplines;
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis;
- Required experience includes:

- Experience with data analysis tools and platforms
- Experience in information extraction technologies (such as NLP or object detection)
- Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis methods
- Experience that would be great — or an interest in learning — includes:

- Decision Trees
- Deep Learning
- Mathematics and statistics
- Graphs and visualization
- Passionate about using technology to conduct research;
- Willingness to cooperate actively in a team of mixed experience;
- An interest in digital humanities and digital history
- Ability to meet deadlines and demonstrate methodological, organised, pragmatic and effective approaches to the work;
- Good command of English; French is an asset, German a bonus
