Founded in 1856, the Banque Internationale à Luxembourg is the oldest multi-business bank in the Grand Duchy. From its foundation, the BIL has always played an active role in the development of the Luxembourg economy. It currently operates in retail, private and corporate banking, as well as on major capital markets. **Responsibilities**:
**Your key objectives**
You will be the commercial contact for AIF Depositary’s clients with a strong business thinking approach (strong relationship skills, commercial performance management,). Your typical day will see you working on a wide range of various projects.
You will report to the Head of AIF Depositary.
**What will you do?**
Performing the commercial interactions with BIL’s AIF Depositary clients (fund initiators and fund managers) as well as all involved professional third-parties (AIFM, Fund Administration, Transfer Agent, Auditors, Legal Advisors, etc.) and concerned BIL teams businesswise and performs the function of Depositary Bank following the AIFMD.
- Act as first point of contact for your portfolio of funds within a team.
- Maintain and develop long-term relationships with our clients.
- Feed business developers with technical and legal elements to be taken into consideration for proposing BIL’s services.
- Assist the hierarchy in drafting of business plans and contribute reaching operational and commercial targets. Provide commercial and risk reporting to the Head of AIF Depositary based on appropriate KPIs.
- Participate in the preparation/review/negotiation of service offers, agreements, offering documents,
- Manage the on-boarding process.
- Take an active part to the evolution of procedures and transversal projects in relation with AIF business.
- Contribute to the depositary regulatory watch and ensure that the Bank’s depositary activity remains compliant with laws, regulation and best practices.
- Act as internal and external a point of escalation.
- Participate in industry events.
Must Have Requirements
- At least 5 years of professional experience and knowledge in the investment fund industry.
- University degree in relevant field (finance, business administration, economics, audit, legal).
- Bac +5 or equivalent professional experience.
- Fluent in English and French, written and spoken. German or any other language is considered an advantage.
- Extensive knowledge of:
- Banks’ organisations and activities, workflows, operational risk management processes/tools and challenges, duties,
- Financial products and services such as cash / treasury management, securities (transactions, safekeeping,), financing and capital markets solutions.
- Excellent knowledge of:
- The AIFMD as well as the legal and regulatory framework of Luxembourg investment fund vehicles and industry best practice.
- The ins and outs of alternative asset classes such as Private Equity, Private Debt, Real Estate and Infrastructure.
- Operational risk assessment and monitoring, enhancement of processes and procedures.
- The drivers of the European fund industry.
- Strong team player with entrepreneurial skills and a highly supportive attitude.
- Strong presentation, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).
- Strong analytical skills as well as conceptual and strategic thinking.
- Self-organized way of working by delivering high quality results in time with a good sense of prioritization.
- Accurate, flexible, hands-on and delivering the best work when facing tight deadlines.
