Our Luxembourg office has a 6m fixed term contract opportunity for an Anti-Financial Crime professional to join them as a Compliance Manager.
The purpose of this role is to assist the Anti Financial Crime (“AFC”) Compliance Team of Aberdeen Standard Investments Luxembourg S.A. (“ASI Lux S.A.”) and support the RC/MLRO in their role, ensuring that ASI Lux S.A. follows regulatory and statutory obligations on AFC and oversight of delegates.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting initial and on-going due diligence of appointed Transfer Agents and other delegates;- Providing assessments of investor on-boarding cases for the approval of RC/MLRO (high risk or PEP related cases);- Supporting Sales, Legal, Investor Services and Client Services colleagues in the client on
- boarding process (with the evolution of the 3LOD model, exclusively for high risk cases);- Analysing escalations from the internal and external Transfer Agents for the approval of the RC/MLRO;- Evaluation of positive screening matches for resolution or escalation to the RC/MLRO;- Assisting in the onboarding and oversight of Distributors, as required from a 2LOD perspective;- Drafting of regulatory reporting including CSSF AML Survey and Market Entry Forms;- Preparing management information for internal reporting and contributing to elements of internal reporting (e.g. ASIL Exco, ASIL Board, ASIL sub-committees, Fund Boards);- Developing and analysing data to inform ongoing risk exposure and risk appetite threshold tolerances- Leading the ongoing review of ASIL inherent and residual AFC risks, and the effectiveness of the control environment- Supporting the delivery of the ongoing compliance monitoring plan- Supporting completion of responses to due diligences completed on ASI Lux S.A.;- Participating in abrdn Group projects; and- Providing support to the Luxembourg and Global AFC team.
What we're looking for:
- Self-motivated with excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written);- Ability to work independently, proactive approach to problem solving, taking ownership of issues and having the determination to follow tasks through to completion;- Detailed knowledge of Luxembourg AML and Delegate oversight requirements;- Team player;- Keen attention to detail;- Proven experience in effective coaching and development of junior Team members; and- Strong prioritisation and time management skills.
Experience & Qualifications:
- University degree;- Proven experience in AML compliance within the Fund industry in Luxembourg;- Good understanding of Luxembourg’s AML and delegate compliance laws, regulations and circulars.- Fluent in English, both oral and written. French is a strong plus, any other languages beneficial.- Available to travel when needed.
