The EMEA Region Property & Specialty Business Partner provides key strategic financial advice to ensure optimal business decisions are made and business objectives are met and financial planning and analysis is at hand for the executive management team of Property, Aviation and Trade Credit lines, as well as oversee the ongoing financial run off of our Energy portfolio. A close cooperation with the business ensures we are effective in the areas of timely cash collection and compliance with local regulatory requirements.

Location: this role can be based out of our AIG offices in: Luxembourg/Luxembourg, Milan/Italy or London/UK.

Key Responsibilities
- Contributing to EMEA hitting PTOI, Production and GOE targets through direct EMEA Business Partnering support and liaison with Finance teams to support assigned products
- Reporting and Monitoring of the Performance of the Business/ Segments (Key P&L items).
- Analysis of Performance including segment level Profitability, KPI analysis, quality of business mix etc.
- Business Planning process, budgeting and forecasting.
- Support, to include reviewing economics of exit decisions (product/ geography/ customer), as well as proposals for where we should be placing more/ less emphasis
- Expense Management and monitoring, and transparency of expense drivers.
- Monitoring of the EMEA wide implementation of the Strategic Plan
- Direct business partnering to Product leads across EMEA to support execution of key strategic initiatives and provide insights and analysis around performance
- Work with GI CUO/ Pricing, Finance Actuaries, and data teams, and drive the linkage between all the teams.
- Overview/ Capital allocations from Risk.
- Appropriate review and challenge of AAL and Severe Loss loads in line with business strategy, and actual versus expected monitoring
- Appropriate review and challenge of the group reinsurance structures against EMEA risk profile, allocation of reinsurance cost/benefit to EMEA, and actual vs expected monitoring
- Ensure Consistency of approach across Finance teams on all matters where appropriate
- Input into the preparation of the EMEA operating plan and Legal Entities board packs

Profile
- Accomplished finance individual with strong knowledge of local regulatory requirements, US GAAP reporting and with a strong focus on financial planning and analysis to drive business performance
- Able to collaborate across functions and can communicate well with others. Ability to explain complex financial information to non-financial colleagues. Good understanding of the regulatory environment in the different countries
- Able to work cohesively in a matrix structure supporting the Finance Centre by providing day to day management / support of the in-country finance individuals
- In depth understanding of financial planning & analysis (FP&A), U.S. GAAP and Local GAAP accounting, qualified accountant and/or MBA
- Experience of working in financial services, preferably insurance
- Experience of engaging with senior management level
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Good understanding of the regulatory environment in the Consumer Insurance space
- High resilience, especially when working under time pressure, as well as high assertiveness
