Securities Services Head, Md, Luxembourg

This is a senior leadership role with an end to end ownership of Securities Services Luxembourg P&L, clients, and all product initiatives across custody, fund accounting, transfer agency and middle office products in Luxembourg. This leadership role comes with a significant undertaking as the Accountable Executive to successfully deliver Project Sentosa and potential large AM deal for the Securities Services Franchise in Luxembourg. Focus on talent management ensuring local talent development as well as external benchmarking.

Close collaboration with the CCO in executing the Franchise strategy in line with broader Citi and Securities Services objectives and to continue local regulatory relationship and industry leadership.

Fully accountable for appropriate risk and control governance framework for Luxembourg Securities Services Franchise

Key partner with regional Sales, CE and O&T to sure the successful implementation of the franchise impacting deals.

Job Context:
Citi is driving a period of sustained growth in Securities Services in a complex and challenging market environment. Luxembourg in particular is experiencing an unparalleled growth transformation driven by the two large franchise deals to be on-boarded in the next 6-18 months.

The franchise needs to acquire a business leader to on-board /execute the large deals and upscale talent across all aspects of service, ops, tech and product to ensure we have the right Securities Services business leadership in Luxembourg during this significant growth transformation period.

Deal Execution and on-boarding, talent upgrade/ acquisition are the two key attributes of this leadership role whilst staying focus on 100% client retention /satisfaction and profitability of the Franchise.

Stake holder management and partnership with the regional /global management in operations, service, technology and product is paramount to the individual and collective success of the franchise in delivering and on-boarding the strategic deals.

As a senior Securities Services business leader in the local market place this role will be locally based to allow full integration in the Luxembourg culture and business fabric.

The role will be required to create top Citi visibility; providing an active lead in the Funds Industry, establish senior contacts with Law firms, management companies, Independent Directors and work with the Country Manager to continue the robust relationship with the local regulator, CSSF

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic on-boarding/execution: Senior Executive accountable for the overall execution of Project Sentosa and the large Funds deals to deliver the growth transformation agenda for Luxembourg.

Financial Performance: End to end responsibility for the financial performance of the Luxembourg franchise, growing top line revenue and managing to expense targets. Explore additional strategic opportunities to further grow the Lux franchise. Seek robust and sustainable OE and continue to improve profitability.

Talent Management: Responsible for talent management /VOE, acquisition and upgrade of the Luxembourg Franchise in line with the growth agenda and large deals implementation.. Must take an active role in resource planning encompassing staff quality, performance management and new hiring to actively benchmark talent to best in industry peer group, across Front Office, Operations and Technology.

Client Leadership: Lead business role for the top 10 local senior client relationships. Ownership of local client escalation and remediation. Drive client engagement and sales /origination agenda locally in partnership with global and regional Sales and Client Executive management.

Product: Senior product leadership across Securities Services in Luxembourg and act as a senior representative for the CEP franchise. Benchmark product capabilities, drive local /regional product development across regulatory, market mandatory and new business opportunities.

Market Profile: Continue to push the visibility agenda and Citi’s market profile through leading engagements with local consultants, advisors and fund boards, mancos, law firms in partnership with local, regional and global Citi franchise as appropriate.

Regulatory and Governance: Ensure a robust control environment for the Securities Services business, with clear oversight of key and emerging risks at a Legal Entity, product, O&T partner, client asset protection and individual conduct level.

Knowledge/Experience:

- Previous experience within Investor Services business in a Product, Operations or Coverage Role
