Prototype Quality Technician

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is currently looking for a dynamic and results-driven” individual to join as a Prototype Quality Technician for our Luxembourg Technical Center in Hautcharage, Luxembourg. The Prototype quality technician will be responsible for quality management, component quality, quality data analysis and documents.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Component quality:
- Deploy ‘Prototype Inspection Process’ procedure within BorgWarner Tech Center Lux
- Track, Review and assess prototype component quality via ‘Prototype Inspection Process’
- Coordinate component quality in agreement with Engineering department.
- Coordinate containment and/or additional inspection for non-conformances, suspect, or probation components.
Protoshop Quality management:
- Create and/or revise documentation for Power Electronics (PE) prototype build group
- Lead Protoshop documentation and updates in accordance with automotive standards and program/project requirements (PFD, PFMEA, PCP, Work Instr., Checklists, In-process worksheets, etc.).
- Establish and maintain QMS within Protoshop scope. (document control, identification, storage, access/retrieval)
- Organize Internal Audits and/or Layered Process Audits (LPA).
- Assist in the BW-PDS system integration (processes & procedures) of Power Electronics team.
Prototype build:
- Lead build documentation implementation and effectiveness
- Data analysis of proto builds for product/process compliance. (Product specs)
- Coordinate execution & recording on Non-Conforming Material (semi finish/finish products)
- Lead ‘First-Time-Quality (FTQ)’ deployment and reporting.
- Coordinate reconciliation of Scrap material and reporting.
- Create lab orders for basic functionality/performance testing, rework, repair.
- Lead gate chart reviews including potential escalation. Coordination and monitoring of assembly Failures/Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Action(s) implementation.
- Maintain records for product/process compliance documentation.
- Create and update lessons learned from builds and component quality
Customer return/Analysis:
- Create and/or revise documentation for work instruction, test, teardown.
- Create and update lessons learned from teardown/analysis
- Cross collaboration with Engineering for BOP/BOD updates.
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
- 2-3 years of experience working on a Quality aspect, in automotive industry is preferred
- Ability to read and understand GD&T
- Ability to travel to suppliers (10%-20% of time)
- Good knowledge in automotive standard, IATF 16949, ISO9001, ASME Y14.5
- Good knowledge in Microsoft office Suite and Minitab
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Positive, proactive, result-oriented, team-oriented
- Fluency in English is required and French is a plus
