Senior Group Manager, Fund/client Accounting

Overview

**Position Summary**:
Directs the Fund Accounting & Administration areas consisting of multiple teams that are responsible for conducting accounting services on behalf of a broad array of assigned clients including determining net asset values, calculating fund performance, allocating expenses, and preparing reports. Responsible for the financial and human resources for the unit and ensures assigned teams are operating effectively to meet unit goals and objectives. Executes business plans and contributes to the development of functional strategy.

**Primary Responsibilities**:
Responsible for end to end Service Delivery for Accounting and Administration related services to our Luxembourg client base
Sets guidelines for determining the net asset value (NAV) for funds in a variety of sectors for each measurement cycle. Promotes consistency across product areas.
Ensures Financial and Regulatory reporting is compliant with applicable regulations and policies and provided to third parties (clients, regulators, auditors, etc) in a timely manner
Accountable for client satisfaction for relationship management for a broad set of clients related to Fund Accounting/Administration matters. Ensures customer service levels meet client needs and resolves any client issues.
Working closely with offshore teams and assumes end to end responsibility for all aspects of production.
Point of contact to Senior Stakeholders for our Luxembourg clients
Attend client board meetings, when required.
Participates in sales efforts including RFP and RFI preparation and related presentations.
Provides oversight and guidance in setting the processes that check for the completeness and accuracy of disclosure in financial statements. Resolves complex escalated issues from team members.
Leads analysis of GAAP and/or IFRS rules to determine impact of new regulations on BNY Mellon fund accounting practices. Develops policies to best ensure compliance with new regulations.
Sets guidelines, policies, and priorities for the drafting of financial reports for a broad set of clients to review fund performance. Communicates reports and highly complex accounting intricacies to clients.
Recruits, directs, motivates and develops staff, maximizing their individual contribution, their professional growth and their ability to function effectively with their colleagues as a team.
Oversees relationships with senior-level auditors and clients to ensure financial reporting meets their expectations and accurately depicts fund performance.
Responsible for outsourcing relationships with service providers globally

**Leadership**:
This is a senior operational leadership role and the role-holder is expected to contribute to regional and global initiatives.
Manages multiple Fund/Client Accounting teams that do work for a broad array of clients. Work is primarily accomplished through subordinate managers.
Identifies and develop opportunities for transformation and capacity creation. Drive productivity and operational effectiveness
Leads the Luxembourg Fund Accounting Team, fostering high performance and an inclusive working environment
Closes collaboration with and support of European Bank Luxembourg Branch Management ensuring the adherence to and compliance with the governance and regulatory requirements

**Education & Experience**:
Bachelors' degree in accounting or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
10-15 years of relevant work experience and at least 5 years in management preferred.
A proven track record in operational leadership is preferred.
