Research Associate in Optimisation for Space Data

**Your Role...**

This is a fully funded position for 2 years in the SERENITY (SpacE data bRokEriNg optImizaTion sYstem) project conducted in collaboration with the team of Prof. Jacek Blazewicz at Poznan University of Technology (PUT), Poland.

The SERENITY project aims to propose a novel type of marketplace where space data providers and consumers interact through a data broker that relies on a data lake storage. To this end, the SERENITY project will develop novel artificial intelligence and data storage approaches that will permit to tackle objectives like maximising providers' profits, optimising data latency and minimising total purchase cost for customers.

The position holder will be required to perform the following tasks/will do research on the following topics:

- Contribute to the SERENITY project
- Carry out research in the predefined areas
- Disseminate results in top scientific venues
- Providing guidance to PhD and MSc students
- Participating in proposal writing
- Participating to the teaching activities
- Present results in international conferences and workshops

**Your Profile...**
- A PhD degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or a related field
- Experience in optimisation algorithms (exact, heuristics, metaheuristics, )
- Experience in data lakes (topology, architecture)
- Experience in machine learning algorithms
- Experience in high-performance computing (HPC) and/or GPU computing is desirable
- Sound publication track record in relevant international conferences and top journals
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C/C++
- Highly committed, excellent team-worker, and strong critical thinking skills
- Business fluent in English
