Protec-luxembourg: Internship Demand Planning

ArcelorMittal Europe - Long Products is operating a network of 10 steel plants, 17 rolling mills and multiple downstream units, producing and commercialising over 9 million tons per year. Aiming to optimise its operations, we are looking for a **motivated Demand Planning Intern to join the central marketing team **.
In this position, you will get a chance to work in data analytics and demand forecasting.
The main responsibilities will include support in the development of demand forecast model for multiple plants, markets, and product categories, driving continuous improvement for demand planning process, and monitoring demand forecast accuracy to identify areas of improvement.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Analysis of historical sales data and market trends to support demand forecast model development.
- Work with cross-functional teams such as commercial team, supply chain, data scientists and IT to gather relevant information for demand forecasting.
- Develop automated reports to monitor demand forecast accuracy and communicate findings and recommendations to stakeholders through presentations.
- Identify opportunities to improve demand forecast accuracy through process improvements, technology solutions, and other means.
- Assist in implementing process improvement to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of demand planning activities.
**Qualifications**:
- Currently enrolled in Bachelor’s or Master's degree in computer science, supply chain management, business, statics, economics, or related field.
- Strong technical skills in Python or SQL and Excel with ability to interpret data and draw meaningful insights.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Self-starter with ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Adaptable and agile - able to work effectively in a very fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge in demand planning or forecasting is a plus.
- Fluency in English is required.
