**Job Summary**

The Senior Accountant plays a key role on the level of German legal entity, is part of European finance team, leads month-end close process, reconciliation reporting, month end variance analysis, audits and other adhoc tasks. This position reports directly to European Lead Regional Controller, collaboration with corporate functions like treasury, tax and legal is essential.

**Essential Functions**
Accountabilities
- Ensuring the consistent integrity of information, in a timely manner.
- Compliance with internal and external accounting policies, procedures and legislation.

**Responsibilities**:

- Prepares and files annual financial statements under German GAAP (HGB)
- Leads external and internal audits to include providing detailed documentation for audit requests
- Works with external consultants on annual income tax return preparation
- Monthly income tax calculation, quarterly income tax provision - current and deferred taxes - internal tax reporting
- Responsible for the month end close process (accounting part)
- Completion of monthly VAT returns and intrastat reports
- Completion of national statistics reports
- Prepares and posts recurring and standard manual journals
- Monthly review of cost centres with the business unit finance manager to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Reconciliation of intercompany balances
- Completion of balance sheet reconciliations in line with prescribed templates and frequencies
- Ownership of the fixed asset process and being the main point of contact. To include capitalisation and ensure CIP is monitored in a timely manner
- Managing the liquidity flow for German legal entity, collaborating with Corporate Treasury
- Prepares monthly cash flows to agreed deadlines
- Other projects and general office duties as required

**Qualifications & Experience**

Essential
- German language knowledge on professional level
- Bachelor - Accounting, Finance or equivalent
- At least 3 years’ experience working within industry as Senior Accountant (Bilanzbuchhalter), 7 years in accounting in total
- Strong team player
- Ability to work to deadlines and efficiently
- Ability to build relationships with stakeholders in a virtual environment
- Self-reliant and self-motivated
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong SAP knowledge
