Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
- Hands-on skills in multiple of the following languages: Python, Node.js, Rust, C, C++, Java, HTML5;
- Good understanding of serverless technologies and micro-service architectures.
- Have excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical information in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
- Have a passion for exploring art of the possible and building cloud solutions for a diverse and challenging set of customers. Enjoy keeping technical knowledge up to date.

Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for motivated technologists who possess a unique balance of technical depth and excellent interpersonal skills to join the EMEA Prototyping team. This team is a group of hands-on developers supporting AWS customers to build the first solution adapted to their specific use cases. This role is a technical hands-on position for a Senior Prototype Architect that will focus on Modern Application Development working hand-in-hand with our customers to develop and deploy secured cloud-based solutions on AWS.

This role will also allow you to go beyond the frontier of an AWS region by experimenting with technologies sitting outside of the datacenter, in particular, workloads running over 5G with AWS Wavelength, IoT workloads running with AWS IoT Core and AWS IoT Greengrass, High-Throughput-Compute running on premise with AWS Outposts and content network distribution with services such as AWS CloudFront.

The job is based in Luxembourg, but other locations across Europe can be considered. The role will cover the EMEA region, with up to 30% of traveling to customer sites.

As part of an agile development team, you will support AWS customers to develop prototypes specific to their products and services. You will enjoy keeping your existing technical skills honed and developing new ones so that you can make substantial contributions to in-depth architecture discussions. Key job responsibilities
- Work with customers to explore their business requirements and understand how AWS can help to address them.
- Architect, design and develop with our customers technical prototypes on AWS to help them learn how they can use AWS services in the best possible way for their use-cases.
- Develop, capture, and promote best-practices; participate and contribute as a member of the worldwide AWS technical community of Prototyping Engineers, Solution Architects, Professional Services Consultants, Technical Account Managers, and AWS Trainers.
- Serve as a conduit between the AWS Service teams and the customers, providing detailed guidance for the broader field organization and the customers, and acting as an advocate for the customers towards the central teams. Act as a trusted representative for the service teams and the prototyping team, in front of customers and their executives, to earn trust.
- Keep your skills honed in a dynamic world of ever-changing technologies.
- Identify new cutting-edge domains where our team can invest in the future to best assist our customers.

About the team
- Master Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Computer Engineering or related field.
- Experience working with external or internal customers to implement large-scale cloud-native solutions.
- Having a prior experience with running containers using orchestration technologies (e.g AWS ECS, Kubernetes, Hashicorp Nomad) is considered a plus.
- Holding one or more AWS Professional Certifications (e.g. AWS Solutions Architect Professional) is considered a plus.
