Generali Employee Benefits (GEB) is focusing on for the employee benefits business of the Generali Group. The GEB Network, composed of more than 100 local insurance companies, is one of the leading partners in the international employee benefits management field, servicing more than 1,500 international corporate customers.

The Legal Advisor will be responsible for performing legal activities related to the operations of GEB and other activities carried out within the Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. - Luxembourg Branch. As Legal Advisor, the incumbent will be supporting the General Counsel in performing the following activities (main activities and non-exhaustive list):

- Proactively engaging with Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. - Luxembourg Branch’s functions on legal matters and delivering legal expertise, assisting the business in the effective identification, management and mitigation of the main legal and reputational risks
- Drafting and actively negotiating international and cross-border commercial agreements as well as day-by-day reinsurance (or insurance), financing and treasury transactions
- Addressing, monitoring and/or managing litigations with a view to mitigate relative risks and contain costs
- Building, deploying and maintaining legal tools, processes and policies (e.g. contract development and execution templates, deal set-up and implementation process)
- Coordinating the correct implementation and transposition of the Group’s internal regulations by using the specific tools and liaising with the relevant local functions to this end
- Supporting and providing advice to the Compliance function and to the businesses on the regulation, court decisions and the changing of laws
- Assisting the Business in answering Clients/Partners/Brokers and other third parties on queries related to legal and regulatory aspects
- Ensuring collaboration and communication with industry association
- Managing the relationship with Supervisory Authorities and streamlining information to be exchanged with them
- Monitoring requirements deriving from Insurance Distribution Directive and coordinating related formalities to be fulfilled with regulatory authorities (e.g. registration of agents)
- Contributing to the establishment and maintenance of appropriate governance for the various Assicurazioni Generali S.p.A. - Luxembourg Branch and other GEB units
- Fulfilling corporate secretary duties in the committees and corporate bodies
- Managing the process related to international reinsurance licence/authorisation in conjunction with commercial department and Group Supervisory Affairs
- Reporting to Group Legal Affairs material non-claims related litigation, including Intellectual Property, Antitrust and HR related matters
- Coordinating and reviewing the work of external counsels and service providers with a view of minimizing costs
- Contributing and/or co-leading cross-functional projects, also in relation to the implementation of new EU and local regulations
- Coordinating and performing activities pertaining to the wider Generali Care Hub team including projects and recurrent activities
- Providing legal training and coaching on legal matters,
- Ad hoc requests and projects

Your Profile
- Degree in Law, preferably from a leading university
- Corporate and commercial lawyer with approximately 2 years of experience possibly within a multinational player and/or experience in an international reputable law firm
- Insurance and re-insurance law practice background with experience in the employee benefits business as well as on international and cross border commercial arrangements would be a strong plus
- Solid relationship building, communications, presentation, negotiation and organization skills
- Effective and efficient problem solver with keen judgment and strong multi-tasking and organization skills
- Proven ability to work within multi-country and multi-specialty teams;
- Capable of working in team
- Fluent in English, French and Italian would be an asset
- Travel will be required at times
