The FM Global European Tax Team are responsible for the timely completion of more than 1500 tax processes annually covering the calculation, filing and payment of Corporate Taxes, VAT, Insurance Premium Taxes and other Parafiscal returns in over 30 countries as well as dealing with ad hoc business queries, tax provisions including disclosures for financial statements and Solvency II, BEPS compliance and tax authority audits.

The Tax Accountant will work closely with the existing nine-strong team of tax specialists based in Luxembourg and the UK and will be focused on a portfolio of direct tax compliance responsibilities for FM Global entities and branches across the EMEA region.
- Source information, calculate payments on account and prepare tax returns
- Review externally prepared returns prior to submission, arrange for payments and journals, and prepare reconciliations.
- Develop a good understanding of various European tax systems and keep up to date with legislative changes and tax rates in relevant countries.
- Prepare current and, where relevant, deferred tax provisions for the financial statements of the group.
- Assist with tax audits and transfer pricing projects.
- Assist the Tax Managers with ad hoc projects such as new branch set ups, expense policy guidance, software upgrades etc.
- with a minimum of 2 years’ successful experience in a Direct Tax role with a Fiduciary or International Group.
- Full or part qualified Tax or Accounting professional (e.g. CTA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent) will be an advantage.
- Experience in European corporate tax is essential and a knowledge of either French, German, Dutch or Luxembourgish Tax systems is an advantage.
- Advanced knowledge of general accounting principles and practices.
- Experience with ERP systems and tax software systems.
- Accurate and reliable with good analytical skills. Well organized and service orientated, with business awareness and the ability to meet deadlines.
- Pro-active, autonomous, and self-starting while being a Team Player.
- Good working knowledge of the Excel is essential.
- Fluent in English essential, any other European language is an asset.
