The **Luxembourg Centre for Systems Biomedicine (LCSB)** is an interdisciplinary research centre of the University of Luxembourg. We conduct fundamental and translational research in the field of Systems Biology and Biomedicine - in the lab, in the clinic and _in silico_. We focus on neurodegenerative processes and are especially interested in Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease and their contributing factors.

The LCSB recruits talented scientists from various disciplines: computer scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, engineers, physicists and clinicians from more than 50 countries currently work at the LCSB. We excel because we are truly interdisciplinary and together we contribute to science and society.

The position is part of the **IDERHA** project (Integration of heterogeneous Data and Evidence towards Regulatory and HTA Acceptance), funded by Innovative Health Initiative (IHI).

**Your Role...**:

- Work closely with other project members to ensure data quality, compliance with the FAIR data principles (Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability and Reusability) and alignment with emerging European Health Data Space (EHDS) requirements,
- Identify, recommend and use existing standards and ontologies for different data types e.g. pre-clinical/clinical: phenotypes, molecular data, imaging, patient-generated health data (PGHD) created by wearables and telemonitoring devices, etc.,
- Handle electronic medical records, perform clinical and omics data curation, standardisation, integration and analysis,
- Collaborate on the design, implementation and publication of a recommended set of standards and models for health data exchange,
- Participate in the development of the data and computing platform for the share, access and analysis (including machine learning) of data in both centralized and federated ways,
- Collaborate with the ELIXIR-Luxembourg to ensure long-term sustainability of the project, including database, analysis portal and related outputs (results, tools, software modules and algorithms).

**What we expect from you**:

- A PhD in computer science, computational biology, bioinformatics, biomedicine or similar, with an interest in biomedical informatics and translational medicine
- Good knowledge of electronic medical records, clinical and translational data standards and analysis frameworks such as OMOP/OHDSI, FHIR/HL7, Open mHealth/IEEE, DICOM, ISO-TC215, CDISC, PCHA or similar,
- Experience with data modelling, knowledge of controlled terminologies and ontologies,
- Computer scripting/programming skills (e.g. Java or Python or R),
- Proven work experience with clinical and translational medicine data curation, harmonisation and standardisation,
- Knowledge of clinical and translational landscape, especially European Health Data Space (EHDS) is advantageous,
- Experience of collaborative research, research management and project management,
- Strong problem solving and interpersonal skills,
- Ability to effectively organize, prioritize and execute tasks in a highly dynamic environment,
- Excellent communication skills in English and the ability to articulate clearly the scientific and technical needs and to work within an interdisciplinary setting, communicating with other internal and external partners.

**Here’s what awaits you at the LCSB...**:

- **Excellent work environment** with state-of-the-art infrastructure, laboratory and administrative support
- **Truly connected. **We work together with hospitals and research institutes on a national and international level as well as industrial partners. Connection between science and society is very important to us. From our school lab - the Scienteens Lab - to the different outreach activities and collaborative partnerships with patient associations, we love to listen to society’s needs and share our passion for science
- **Be part of a multicultural team. **At the LCSB we have more than 50 nationalities. Throughout the year, we organise team-building events, networking activities and more
