About Estra Automotive
We are seeking a highly skilled Thermal Systems Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in refrigerant and thermal system testing, including specification development and procedural execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead heat transfer tests, including setup, optimization, and proposal of new methods for test improvement
- Construct duct setups using various tools (wood board, cutting machine, drilling tools)
- Utilize specialized test software (IPTRONIK, LabVIEW, etc) to execute and analyze tests
- Diagnose electrical system failures and perform certification tests (BT-H/V certification preferred)
- Conduct refrigerant performance tests (F gas cat 1 certification preferred), including complete system load and loop setups
- Perform calibration on temperature, pressure, and flow sensors to ensure accurate test conditions
- Collaborate with suppliers to specify and develop new test bench equipment, including forecasting for R744 refrigerant applications
- Ensure all test results are certified and compliant with customer requirements and institutional standards
- Uphold safety and quality standards in all activities, aligning with health and safety protocols
- Oversee preventive maintenance and coordinate immediate repairs to guarantee optimal equipment performance
- Analyze, correlate, and qualify test data, supporting laboratory functionality and overall facility efficiency
- Manage laboratory budgets, including materials procurement and consumable stock levels
- Assist in administrative tasks such as material management and supporting various lab operations
Requirements:
- In-depth expertise in refrigerant and thermal system testing, including specification development and procedural execution
- Strong command of test equipment control and maintenance practices
- Proficiency in applying statistical process control (SPC), measurement system analysis (MSA), and problem-solving methods (6 Sigma, 8D, 5 Why, Ishikawa)
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate at all levels
- Demonstrated initiative, team spirit, and a proactive mindset
- Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives
Language Requirements:
- English ( fluent )
The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $100,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Estra Automotive offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
