Lombard International Assurance S.A. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel - German Market to join our team. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that legal risks are identified, captured, and managed by the Legal team in coordination with internal stakeholders within the applicable company standards and risk appetite levels.
Responsibilities- Provide legal advice to the company in respect of the development of solutions and business relationships with clients and partners.
- Draft and negotiate partner agreements, ad hoc client documents, and any other relevant legal documents.
- Develop excellent working relationships with internal stakeholders, providing them with guidance and support on various aspects of the company's legal matters.
- Conduct legal watch (new laws and regulations relevant to our business) and follow up on legal and regulatory changes to ensure the company is well placed to respond to changes.
- Advise management and staff on all legal matters, including training.
- Manage complaints and litigation, liaising with external counsels, in order to support the corporate position.
- Participate in corporate projects and product development.
- Contribute to the legal reporting to the head office management bodies in a timely manner.
- Ensure full compliance with all Group legal and local requirements that are within the scope of the legal function, especially defining risks and legal and regulatory requirements.
- Law degree in Germany and preferably Bar admission.
- German native and fluency in English.
- 5-8 years' experience in the life insurance or financial sector.
- Contract drafting skills and experience in the fields of contractual risks and management of client queries or complaints/litigation.
- Knowledge of Luxembourg financial sector and of the German insurance environment.
- Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
- Attentive to detail and report drafting skills.
- Ability to prioritise tasks, exercise sound judgment, and creativity in finding solutions.
